United Way of Jasper County Community Partner Agencies
 

These are the 2016-2017 United Way of Jasper County Community Partner Agencies. Each of these organizations is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit human service entity. They have submitted their application and financial information to United Way, participated in the Community Investment interviews, and were accepted to be a 2016-17 United Way Community Partner Agency.

 
American Red Cross                                                           Call: (515) 471-8341
American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Disaster Relief, Service to Armed Forces, Lifeguard Training and HIV/AIDS Education are just a few of the many emergency services offered by the Red Cross.

Baxter Early Learning Center’s mission is to provide a nurturing and safe environment in which the programs are designed to foster each child’s social, emotional and intellectual growth.  
 
Camp Fire                                                                           Call: (515) 274-1501
Program provides before and after school care for elementary-age youth in the Prairie City and Monroe School district and wrap-around care for the preschool program in Prairie City.  
 
Clearview Recovery, Inc.                                                  Call: (515) 994-3562
Provides substance abuse treatment services to women, pregnant women and women with children. Clearview Recovery also provides parenting skills instruction for all clients and their children.
 
Crisis Center & Women's Shelter              Call: (641) 683-1750 or (800) 464-8340
Provides free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence such as a 24-hour crisis line, safe shelter, individual and support group counseling and information about and referrals to community resources.
 
Crisis Intervention Services                       Call: (641) 673-1620 or (800) 270-1620
Provides free and confidential services to victims of sexual assault. Service include 24-hour crisis line, safe shelter, individual and support group counseling and information about and referrals to community resources.
 
Jasper County Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse    Call: (641) 831-4531
JCCPCA dedicates itself to the highest quality of child abuse prevention programs to foster family growth and development. JCCPCA's Parents as Teachers program provides in-home visits that targets children between 0-5 years of age.

Kid Assist, Inc. enhances the quality of life of children, youth and adults with disabilities in Jasper County by loaning leisure, recreational and other adaptive equipment to increase independent skills and build self-sufficiency.

Newton YMCA offers program that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The YMCA strives to make programs and services available to all individuals and families through childcare and program assistance scholarships.

Provides quality, preschool-curriculum childcare services based on the philosophy of "Extension of Family Living" where multi-age classroom settings are promoted for children to develop a sense of family and community with their classmates.

Retired Senior Volunteer Program offers a variety of volunteer opportunities utilizing the experience and wisdom of individuals age 55 and above. Such opportunities include Heart Literacy, tax assistance and medical transportation.

Provides emergency shelter, food, clothing and household needs as well as emergency assistance with rent and utilities for clients in Jasper County. Salvation Army has been serving Jasper County for 125 years.
 
Skiff Hospice, Public Health and ER                                     Call: (641) 787-3074
Skiff Medical Center’s Hospice, Public Health and ER departments each offer programs funded by United Way dollars. These programs seek to improve the quality of life for Skiff patients and their families.
 
Willowbrook                                                                            Call: (641) 791-4500
Willowbrook, A Wesley Life Adult Day Center is the only adult day service in Jasper County. Willowbrook provides programs for individuals 21 years of age or older in a safe and supportive environment.  Respite care is also offered to caregivers and through a partnership with Heartland Senior Services, free and reduced rate transportation is available.
