United Way of Jasper County supports numerous programs through our partner agency. These programs align with our focus areas: Education, Income Stability, Health and Safety. UWJC Partners Agencies are the key players in producing sustained, positive changes in the lives of children and adults in our community. UWJC invests your donation in 16 social programs at our 13 partner agencies. Your contribution to United Way is working around the clock year-round building a brighter future for our children, giving hope to those who are in need, strengthening families, and so much more.
The following is a list of non-profit agencies and programs that received UWJC funding for 2025-2026 FY: Camp Fire - Providing financial support so children can receive before/after school and summer time care in Prairie City and soon in Monroe Clearview Recovery – access to recovery treatment for Jasper County residents at Clearview and Phoenix House Crisis Canines of the Midlands – help train and support Crisis Response Therapy Dog teams in First Responder agencies in Jasper County Family Crisis Center – advocacy for victims of and prevention of domestic violence; financial support of “safe houses” located in Newton; and free office space in our building Food Bank of Iowa – assistance with food banks located at Newton’s four elementary schools, middle school and WEST Academy, and the Back Pack Buddy program for Newton elementary students, also providing food bank assistance in Monroe and Prairie City through the schools Kid Assist – provides adapted equipment (car seats, toys, walkers, swings, etc.) to allow children with a physical or mental handicap to be able to live a normal and productive life at home and school; community spaces accessibility improvements; ramp building Girl Scouts – scholarships for registration fees, books and gear, and camps Habitat for Humanity - Jasper County – Extensive home repair program for low-income families, building ramps, and ensuring homes are structurally safe, providing financial counseling and getting people into permanent housing iJAG – Job training for youth who are at risk and follow up after graduation Peck Child Development – ensuring affordable child care and summer care programs Progress Industries – providing home and community-based services for individuals with a disability Jasper County RSVP – tax preparation assistance; transportation to medical appointments; and Heart Literacy program in Newton and Baxter schools Salvation Army – assistance for shelter, food, utilities, prescriptions and clothing AmericCorps Iowa - school-based supplemental reading assistance for Newton elementary students
