$229,850 allocated to Jasper non-profits

4/11/2019

It feels like Christmas at the United Way of Jasper County at the end of March. Why? Because I get the opportunity to call non-profits in Jasper County and share with them how much money the allocations committee has allotted to each of them.

I feel like Santa Claus calling and emailing to give good news. But what I'm sharing isn't a present, it's way better. What I get to give on behalf of the donors and board and the volunteers is resources to help make lives better.

The money given to these charities for the upcoming year (April 1, 2019-March 31, 2020) means children will have a safe place after school, women who have been victims of sexual assault will have counseling and advocates to help them, families will have enough to eat, seniors will have access to medical care and so much more.

In 2018-19, more than 12,000 Jasper County residents received vital services of programs funded in-part or in-whole by United Way of Jasper County. That's 1/3 of the entire county population.

But none of it would have been possible without the amazing generous givers who supported the United Way and entrusted us to be good stewards of their gifts and to ensure the money is helping the most people and is used most effectively.

Thank you to our donors. You are making a difference in Jasper County RIGHT NOW!
