United Way presents Granny All-Stars Basketball Extravaganza set for Nov. 2
Come enjoy a fun night of basketball as the Granny Mustangs take on the United Way of Jasper County All-Stars on Nov. 2!
The Granny Mustangs, whose impressive roster includes Jasper County women who are 55 and older who play in a competitive Midwest league, will take on the United Way of Jasper County All-Star team which features local celebrities, former collegiate and professional athletes and a slew of special guests. Special guests confirmed for 2024 include: ANNOUNCER: + Sarah Jorges - The Morning Show with Sarah and Joe on Energy 106.7 FM ALL STAR PLAYERS: + Kahlil Carter - Former pro football player, author & actor + Jason Dent - Big Brother contstant, rodeo clown and auctioneer + Carson King - philanthropist, founder Carson King Foundation + Joy The Mini Pig & Dawn Bleeker - Capitol II Theatre + Stephanie Langstraat - Volunteer + Sarah Patterson - RSVP Program Director/Former NHS teacher and coach + Scott Pritchard - Clearview Recovery Executive Director + TRADED - Brett Lundberg - Wallace Family Funeral Home + Stephanie Johnson - US Postal Carrier + Alex Modlin - UWJC Board Member & Clemon Maki Insurance + Marshall (Crisis Canine) & Fire Marshal Jacob Halferty - Newton Fire Department + Becca Decker - Habitat for Humanity The evening will feature four quarters of fun where anything goes as the All-Stars try to defeat the Mustangs as the reigning exhibition champs! Rules from the 1920s will be used and crazy plays are bound to pop up. There will be fun activities planned, a half-time pie auction and post game autographs and photographs for fans. Tip off is at 6 p.m. and gym doors open at 5 p.m. Before the game enjoy a dinner with the family at the Pre-Game Chili Feed!!! The dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner tickets will be sold at the event.
