UWJC Executive Director
Jessica Lowe Vokes joined the United Way of Jasper County in September 2014. Her background in both non-profit work and journalism has helped her promote the work of United Way and raise awareness about the organization's mission and work to stabilize lives.
In addition to her work with the UWJC, Jessica enjoys being an active member of the community. She is president of St. Nick's Christmas Club and helps organize Friends of Newton Parks Maytag Park Holiday Lights. She has also volunteered with a number of other organizations including Hospice of Jasper County, Newton Fest Committee, Newton Chamber of Commerce, Brighton's Whoopee Days, Newton Main Street Promotions Committee, Jasper County Conservation Board, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Pheasants Forever, Friends of Lake Darling and Newton RAGRBAI. Jessica was named one of the Newton Daily News/Young Professionals of Jasper County's 20 Under 40 honorees. She received the Des Moines Register/Young Professionals Connection YP of The Year "Ashley Okland Award" in February 2017. She was named the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce 2019 Community Service Award. She has lived in Newton since 2005. Jessica and her husband Erik make their home in Newton with their dog Ruby and their cats. Jessica enjoys watching old movies, writing, making crafts, cross stitching, learning and performing magic tricks, and spending time with her husband family and friends. |
UWJC Board of Directors
The United Way of Jasper County Board of Directors play an integral part in United Way. They meet bimonthly to discuss goals, finances, impact and outreach. Board members take an active role in fundraising, advocacy and the allocations process to ensure United Way of Jasper County is having the greatest impact possible. The board is composed of community leaders and volunteers who call Jasper County home.
