UWJC Executive Director

Jessica Lowe Vokes  joined the United Way of Jasper County in September 2014. Her background in both non-profit work and communications/journalism has helped her to promote the work of United Way and raise awareness about the organization's mission and work to stabilize lives.

In addition to her work with the UWJC, Jessica enjoys being an active member of the community. She is chair of Newton Fest, a member of St. Nick's Christmas Club, president of Friends of Newton Parks, a board member of the Newton Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Newton Main Street Promotions Committee and marketing volunteer for Brighton's Whoopee Days committee.

Jessica was named one of the Newton Daily News/Young Professionals of Jasper County's 20 Under 40 honorees. She received the Des Moines Register/Young Professionals Connection YP of The Year "Ashley Okland Award" in February 2017. She was named the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce 2019 Community Service Award.

She has lived in Newton since 2005. Jessica and her husband Erik make their home in Newton with their dog Ruby and their cats. Jessica enjoys watching old movies, writing, making crafts, cross stitching, learning and performing magic tricks, and spending time with her husband family and friends.
