She is president of St. Nick's Christmas Club and helps organize Friends of Newton Parks Maytag Park Holiday Lights.  She has also volunteered with a number of other organizations including Hospice of Jasper County, Newton Fest Committee, Newton Chamber of Commerce,
Brighton's Whoopee Days, Newton Main Street Promotions Committee, Jasper County Conservation Board, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Pheasants Forever, Friends of Lake Darling and Newton RAGRBAI.

Jessica was named one of the Newton Daily News/Young Professionals of Jasper County's 20 Under 40 honorees. She received the Des Moines Register/Young Professionals Connection YP of The Year "Ashley Okland Award" in February 2017. She was named the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce 2019 Community Service Award.
