Can you help us with a push or a pull?
During one of my presentations, I heard many reasons why people choose to give to United Way of Jasper County. One woman shared “I give to United Way because life is like a little red wagon. Sometimes you push and sometimes you pull, then there are time you need a ride. I give now because I can help pull the wagon a long but there may be a point when I need a ride and I hope people are there if I need the help.”
What she said really struck a chord with me. I’ve been someone who has pulled the wagon, but at times I’ve needed the ride. It was a simple analogy, but it shares why UWJC and the programs we fund are vital to the health of our community. At times we can help while other times we may need the help but we are all in this together.
When you make a donation to United Way of Jasper County you’re not funding one program or one organization, you’re funding dozens and the impact is immense. Last year's campaign has already changed lives. In fact, United Way-funded programs are serving an average of 12,000 Jasper County citizens annually - nearly 1/3 the total county population.
We hope you'll consider making a donation and helping the United Way meet its goal of $330,000. Your gift is essential to better meet challenges facing Jasper County and it will allow us to offer rides in the wagon when people need them.
Thank you so much for your support. Together we can truly make a difference.
